Tuesday 14th November, saw the great and good from the Leeds food and drink scene descend on Leeds Town Hall for the 2nd Leeds Restaurant Awards, and it was one hell of a party. The culmination of months of independent judging and public voting, this huge black-tie ceremony recognised the very best in the industry.
The event was attended by all the Leeds restaurant glitterati, with special guests of honour Richard Shepherd of the famous Langans empire in London which includes; Langan’s Bistro, Langan’s Brasserie, Odins, Shepherds and Coq d’or, along with our favourite Leeds resident and huge advocate of eating out in Leeds; Sir Jimmy Saville.
While the awards themselves were, of course, the main attraction, the food and drink (provided by Dine) and the setting made this truly a wonderful occasion for all to remember. In fact, so great was the interest in this year's second Leeds Restaurant Awards event, that the tickets completely sold out with 350+ restauranteurs and supporters attending and partying into the early hours. Looks like next year will again have to be even bigger!
Anyway, without any further ado, these are the official results from the second Let's Eat Leeds awards 2006
