Tuesday 15th November, saw the great and good from the Leeds food and drink scene descend on Harewood House for the 1st Leeds Restaurant Awards, and it was one hell of a party. The culmination of months of independent judging and public voting, this huge black-tie ceremony recognised the very best in the industry.
The event was attended by all the Leeds restaurant glitterati, with special guest of honour, Sir Jimmy Saville doing what he does best, entertaining all those who attended in his familiar style. He also did a splendid impersonation of Marco Pierre White who unfortunately could not be with us to attend this inaugural event.
While the awards themselves were, of course, the main attraction, the food and drink (provided by Dine) and the setting made this truly a wonderful occasion for all to remember. In fact, so great was the interest in the very first Leeds Restaurant Awards event, that the tickets completely sold out with 240 people in total attending and partying into the early hours. Looks like next year will have to be even bigger! Watch this space for more details in the New Year.
Anyway, without any further ado, these are the official results from the first Let's Eat Leeds awards 2005
